Gallatin's Junior Service League has been working with Guild Elementary since 2005. The purpose of the Junior Service League is to help women and children in their community, and they have certainly helped the children at Guild. Over the past 2 years the club has put a lot of work into the playground, including rebuilding, refurbishing, and/or painting many of the pieces of equipment and donating $2,500 in mulch and hiring men to spread it. They gave almost $3,000 toward renovating and rewiring the school’s new computer lab. Members sponsored more than a dozen Guild students for Christmas this year and last, buying them possibly the only gifts they will receive for the holidays. They organized and improved the overall aesthetics of the school’s clothing storage area, which is used to store extra clothes given to children who come to school in clothes that are torn, dirty, too big or too small, or inadequate for the weather. Other donations include incentives for outstanding students, lumber for outside picnic tables, paint for classrooms, and items and volunteer hours for the spring carnival, spring bake sale, and spring flea market.
The pictures below were taken at their partnership ceremony. More than a dozen Guild staff members were present. Representing JSL was Lynda Anderson and presiding over the ceremony was Sumner County Criminal Court Judge Dee Gay.

Publix Stores collected "Tools for Schools" again this year. The stores in Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Goodlettsville collected more than $2,400 in school supplies that were then donated to Brown, Guild, and Millersville elementary schools.
