Sumner Bank & Trust is a Partner with Union Elementary. Plans for partnership activities include:
Bankers in the classroom: employees visit classrooms monthly to teach students about the importance of saving, money management, and positive credit concepts.
Monthly tutoring and serving as classroom readers on special reading days.
Banker for a Day: selected 5th graders visit the bank for a day in the spring to take a tour, shadow a bank officer, and meet the bank President.
Bank in School: students have the opportunity to open a savings account and make deposits throughout the year. Each time a deposit is made, the student receives a reward.
Sumner Bank & Trust also made a monetary donation of $500 to the school for the 2006-07 school year, with plans to increase their donation amount every year.
