The Educate & Grow Sumner County scholarship program is an economic development initiative created to cultivate and maintain a qualified workforce for Sumner County. The scholarships fund four (4) semesters of tuition and fees at Volunteer State Community College. Educate & Grow scholarships are applied after all other scholarships and grants, including the Hope Scholarship.
Any graduating senior who resides in Sumner County and meets the requirements of Tennessee Scholars is eligible for the scholarships.
The Educate & Grow scholarship fund is made possible by resolution of the Sumner County Board of County Commissioners, passed on June 16, 2008.
Application Procedure
1. Submit the Tennessee Scholars/Educate & Grow Sumner County Application, completed and signed, with an official high school transcript and a detailed account of community service hours, to

3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information)
The Application Deadline for Students Graduating in 2010 is March 31, 2010.
